The 2010 Perilous Plunge is set for Saturday, February 27, 2010 at 10:00 AM on the F Street Boardwalk!
The Perilous Plunge is the Discovery Museum's only large fundraiser of the year. The Perilous Plunge enables us to develop new exhibits, programs and camps, provide scholarships and free programs to the community, and maintain low admission and membership rates.
Last year's Perilous Plunge enabled us to:
- Lead 40 Museum field trips for local school children
- Award 20 camperships to Pal Camp
- Provide 106 free programs to the community
- Offer 42 educational drop-off programs in the Museum
You can support the Discovery Museum!
- Become a Perilous Plunger- Gather pledges from friends, family, and co-workers and take the plunge into Humboldt Bay! (Enjoy a soak in the hot tub, a Bloody Mary, and a tri-tip lunch afterward for your bravery!)
- Sponsor a Plunger- Make a pledge to a friend or family member to see them jump into the bay! Any tax-deductible pledge you make, large or small, is greatly appreciated.
- Become a Business Sponsor- Your business can sponsor the event and receive publicity at the event and on promotional materials, including our annual Plunge T-Shirt. You also receive tickets to the Beach Party.
- Attend the Beach Party on Friday, February 26, 2010 at 6:00 PM at the Discovery Museum- Purchase a ticket for $50 and enjoy Plunge Punch, catering by Curley’s Grill, beverages by Lost Coast Brewery, and live and silent auctions all in a tropical atmosphere. Be sure to wear your beach attire!
- If you won't be in town for the event, or don't know a plunger to sponsor, you can always make a tax-deductible donation to help support the Discovery Museum.
