Regular Programs

Young Discoverers
Bring your preschool age child to the Discovery Museum for an hour of thematic activities, stories, crafts, songs and dance. This program promotes social and motor skill development to prepare three to five year olds for their next level of education.

Offered Tuesday 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm and Wednesday 11:00am to 12:00 pm, mid-August through mid-June. This is a free program, but space is limited so please call ahead to make sure space is still available.

Kid’s Alive
For children ages 3 to 11. This monthly drop-off program is offered the same evening as Eureka’s Arts Alive (first Saturday each month) from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm. Children participate in activities, crafts, circle time, and free play in the museum. This program usually fills up in advance so call a week in advance for reservations.

Playgroup
Bring your children ages 0 to 5 to the Museum every Wednesday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. This is a great opportunity for parents to meet other parents and a chance for your child to play with other children in a fun atmosphere. This program is free, but space is limited due to building capacity, so please call ahead to make sure there is still space available.

Adventure Afternoon
Spend a Saturday afternoon in the Discovery Museum enjoying special activities in addition to our exhibits. This family program takes place one Saturday every other month from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, with a different theme each month. Free. Call the Museum for the next date.

Family Fun Night
Enjoy the Discovery Museum in the evening! The museum will be open one Friday night every other month from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. Family Fun Night is completely free, but donations are always appreciated. Call the Museum for the next date.
