Camp Dates: June 17th - August 9th
Kids have been spending time outdoors and making new friends at The Redwood Discovery Museum’s Pal Camp for over 67 years. Art, theater, science, and community resources are combined to delight their senses in the spirit of discovery. Campers and teen counselors participate in activities that promote leadership and personal development.
Pal Camp includes many traditional camp activities such as arts & crafts, games, singing camp songs, cooking, experimenting, swimming in Freshwater Pool, hiking, water games, and storytelling. Thursdays are family potlucks and optional sleepover nights for campers going into the 4th grade and up. Each week camp also hosts professionals or experts from the community to lead themed activities.
Pal Camp offers an extraordinary place and setting for fun, educational and meaningful learning. The 10+ acre site borders Freshwater Creek and includes a beautiful Redwood grove, offering children the true summer camp experience. The camp was established in 1951 when the Pacific Lumber Company partnered with Camp Fire Girls to establish a summer nature camp. In 2005 Pal Camp merged with the Redwood Discovery Museum, which has continued its rich traditions. After the consolidation of the Pacific Lumber Company in 2008 the Humboldt Mendocino Redwood Companies continued the support of Pal Camp and the Redwood Discovery Museum.
Session activities may subject to change.
